Por eso, el nuevo marco europeo distingue entre distintos tipos de plantas NGT. (<a href=\"https:\/\/food.ec.europa.eu\/plants\/new-genomic-techniques_en?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">food.ec.europa.eu<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#x1f9ec; CRISPR: unas \u201ctijeras\u201d moleculares muy precisas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una de las herramientas m\u00e1s conocidas dentro de estas t\u00e9cnicas es <strong>CRISPR-Cas9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A menudo se explica como unas \u201ctijeras moleculares\u201d porque permite cortar o modificar una parte muy concreta del ADN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este sistema no funciona como una mezcla amplia de genes al azar. En cambio, muchas plantas obtenidas mediante NGT pueden modificarse sin incorporar ADN externo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es decir, se trabaja sobre el propio genoma de la planta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por eso, las nuevas normas europeas crean una diferencia entre:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>plantas NGT de categor\u00eda 1<\/strong>, con cambios que podr\u00edan darse de forma natural o mediante mejora convencional;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>plantas NGT de categor\u00eda 2<\/strong>, con modificaciones m\u00e1s complejas, que seguir\u00e1n sometidas a controles similares a los de los organismos modificados gen\u00e9ticamente.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Parlamento Europeo indica que las nuevas reglas buscan facilitar el acceso a plantas m\u00e1s resistentes al clima, a plagas y enfermedades, con mejores rendimientos o menor necesidad de fertilizantes y pesticidas. Seg\u00fan la informaci\u00f3n difundida por el Parlamento Europeo, las semillas NGT deber\u00e1n estar identificadas como tales, aunque el tratamiento regulatorio ser\u00e1 distinto seg\u00fan la categor\u00eda de la planta.
